Mapping Soil Properties at a Regional Scale: Assessing Deterministic vs. Geostatistical Interpolation Methods at Different Soil Depths

چکیده
To determine which interpolation technique is the most suitable for each case study an essential task a correct soil mapping, particularly in studies performed at regional scale. So, our main goal was to identify accurate method mapping 12 variables three different depth intervals: 0–5, 5–10 and >10 cm. For doing that, we have compared nine methods (deterministic geostatistical), drawing maps of Spanish region Extremadura (41,635 km2 size) from more than 400 sampling sites total (e.g., 500 pH 0–5 cm). We used coefficient determination (R2), mean error (ME) root square (RMSE) as statistical parameters assess accuracy method. The results indicated that varied depending on property study. In properties such clay, EBK (Empirical Bayesian Kriging) cm layer (R2 = 0.767 RMSE 3.318). However, depth, it IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted) with R2 values 0.689 5.131, respectively. other pH, CRS (Completely Regularized Spline) best 0.834 0.333), while predicting below 10 0.825 0.399). According findings, concluded necessary choose proper mapping.

متن کاملTemporal changes of soil physic-chemical properties at different soil depths during larch afforestation by multivariate analysis of covariance
Soil physic-chemical properties differ at different depths; however, differences in afforestation-induced temporal changes at different soil depths are seldom reported. By examining 19 parameters, the temporal changes and their interactions with soil depth in a large chronosequence dataset (159 plots; 636 profiles; 2544 samples) of larch plantations were checked by multivariate analysis of cova...

The accumulation of a trace metal in rice grain is not only affected by the total concentration of the soil trace metal, but also by crop variety and related soil properties, such as soil pH, soil organic matter (SOM) and so on. However, these factors were seldom considered in previous studies on mapping the pollution risk of trace metals in paddy soil at a regional scale. In this study, the sp...

Geostatistics provides quantitative indicators to characterize the spatial distribution of soil attributes which follow the regionalized variable theory. The present study aimed at applying Geostatistics to enhance the resolution of a regional soil map at East El-Owienat area which surveyed by one profile for each four kilometers. Studied area was extracted over 71 thousand feddans where six so...
متن کاملUncertainties of Two Methods in Selecting Priority Areas for Protecting Soil Conservation Service at Regional Scale
Soil conservation (SC) is an important ecosystem regulating service. At present, methods for SC mapping to identify priority areas are primarily based on empirical soil erosion models, such as the RUSLE (Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation) based model. However, the parameters of the empirical soil conservation model are based on long-term observations of field experiments at small spatial sca...
